Born and bred in the heart of Texas, Josh's culinary journey began in the small panhandle town of Stratford. Raised by his loving parents, Jeff and Lynette, alongside siblings April and Craig, Josh's early culinary aspirations led him to serve on the Texas Pork Producers Junior Board of Directors during high school. After a detour into the world of music at The University of Texas in Austin, where he played drums for the Longhorn Band, he realized his true calling lay in the kitchen.

Turning the page, Josh pursued his passion at the Texas Culinary Academy in Austin, earning his Associates Degree in the Applied Science of Culinary Arts from La Cordon Bleu in 2003 with top honors. His post-culinary school journey began at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, where he swiftly climbed the ranks from intern to Chef Garde Manger. Seeking new challenges, he ventured to Rockwall to help launch the Hilton Bella Harbor Hotel as the PM Line Sous Chef, excelling for three years before returning home to be closer to family.

In Amarillo, Josh left an indelible mark at the Amarillo Country Club, first as the restaurant manager and later as the Chef De Cuisine. The call of the Meyerson brought him back as the Executive Sous Chef for six years before he assumed the role of Executive Chef at HGYC.

Josh's culinary repertoire spans from cooking on the line and managing inventory to orchestrating events for thousands. He has fed former Presidents, catered to celebrities, executed fine-dining galas, and hosted weddings for Dallas socialites. With extensive banquet experience, from serving 3000 people daily at Mary Kay conventions to curating the private country club experience, Josh brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

In 2014, he met his wife Meredith, and their son Avery joined the family in 2019. Currently residing in Rowlett, Josh balances his culinary pursuits with unconventional hobbies like raising reptiles and fish, furniture refinishing, and, of course, playing drums – much to the chagrin of his neighbors.

As he takes the helm at HGYC, Josh is eager to serve its members, aspiring to grow alongside the club, elevate the culinary experience, and create a welcoming space for friends and family. His dedication to delivering exceptional food and service reflects his commitment to making HGYC a cherished gem in the hearts of its patrons.
